Predicting and Preventing Homelessness in Los Angeles

Abstract

We at Inclusive Economics Lab at UChicago partnered with the Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office and the California Policy Lab (CPL) to use large-scale machine learning techniques to predict first-time homelessness in order to better target and rigorously evaluate prevention efforts.
